Model Y is a compact electric SUV with a unique exterior design that sets it apart from traditional SUVs. It has a low, sporty silhouette with a sloping roofline and a bold front fascia with smooth, continuous surfaces without a traditional grille. This gives the vehicle a clean, modern look while also improving aerodynamics.Model Y’s exterior is characterized by its flowing lines and smooth surfaces, with a sculpted hood and fenders, and sculpted sides that add to the vehicle’s sporty appearance. Flush-mounted door handles are integrated into the door panels and automatically extend when the vehicle is unlocked, providing a smooth and seamless appearance.

Intelligent assisted driving

Tesla’s Autopilot has advanced safety and convenience features designed to help you reduce complicated operations and enjoy driving more. Autopilot can continuously introduce new features and improve existing functions through software updates, continuously improving the safety and functionality of the vehicle. With Autopilot enabled, your vehicle can automatically assist in steering, accelerating, and braking within its lane. At this stage, the Autopilot automatic assisted driving function still requires active monitoring by the driver, and the vehicle has not yet achieved fully autonomous driving.

Super large detection range and super computing power

Eight cameras and powerful vision processing capabilities allow for a 360-degree field of view and monitoring of the surrounding environment up to 250 meters away. The vast amounts of data collected by the cameras are processed by our third-generation on-board computer, which has 40 times the computing power compared to the previous generation. The on-board computer runs Tesla’s self-developed neural network system, which is the basis for our training and development of Autopilot automatic assisted driving. This system can “see” in every direction at the same time, and its detection range far exceeds human senses, providing an image of the world that the driver himself cannot reach.

Tesla Vision vision processing

To take full advantage of this powerful set of cameras, Tesla developed an equally powerful vision processing tool called Tesla Vision. Designed with safety first

The refreshed Model 3 uses the same structural framework as other Tesla models and is designed and built with safety as the top priority. The vehicle’s side panels can absorb energy and act as a buffer in the event of a side collision; the reinforced battery pack located in the chassis can reduce the risk of vehicle rollover; and the high-strength body structure can withstand several times the weight of the vehicle itself.
